Morocco is rich in natural water stains that awaken wild swimmers, adventurers and nature lovers. Under the Grand Cascades d’uzoud (northeast of Marrakech), smaller waterfalls and remote pools offer refreshing escape from the more busy areas that are perfect for a quiet bathroom. For those who are ready to climb, the rocky pool of the Amtoudi flow flow in the middle of the country in gentle steps through a striking gorge that is interrupted by Rosa Oleander that bloom on the water edge. In closer on the desert, the clear, green water from Cascades Attiq offer a refreshing withdrawal from the surrounding heat and dry landscape, while the quiet flow of a mistletoe lacks and offers shadow peace through a landscape. In the Atlas mountains there are remote natural lakes such as IFNI and the legendary Isli and Tilit hidden treasures and rewarded visitors with raw beauty and loneliness, which are far from far away. Here are our favorites:
Cascades Attiq
A must, must-swim goal (see lead image above). The deep pools were crystal clear and ideal for swimming. We were fascinated by the local boys who dived acrobatics in the water and carried out. Surrounded by high cliffs and the huge, open sky, the river was a hidden place where the Amazigh people had escaped the hard desert environment for centuries to cool off. We joined this old tradition. From the fabric north to P30/N12 for 600 m; Take the first outcome at the roundabout; After the 75m park where you can; Go to the cascades and the river on the left to the metal handrail.
OUED IFERTENA and OUED LAOU Familial
Embedded between the green slopes and the untamed rivers of the RIF mountains, the village of Chefchaouen is located. The blue aesthetics have made it a popular tourist stop, but it is still a not too strange visit and a great place to support yourself while looking for wild adventures. The surrounding mountains are full of hikes and hidden paths, and the nearby river of Oued Laou offers several wild swimming places, including the remote green water from Baofa and the quieter pools of OUED LAOU Family.
OUED IFERTEN: An offshoot of the Oued Laou river, who moved to the sea. When the river narrowed, it becomes a peaceful stream that is perfect for paddling and not swimming. The water flows steadily and the green and the pink oleander add the color. Overhead, a high mosque minaret, is a silent guardian. The river was partially stowed with stones and formed small cascades in which the water hurried over the rocks. Take the P1405 15 km from Al Oued until you reach the bridge over the OUED Laou near Beni Isentan. Switch on the Schindelweg in front of the bridge and park next to the river (35,3529, -5,1855); Oued Iferten stands on your right and OUED Laou is familiar right in front of you.
OUED LAOU Family While some sections of the OUED Laou river with steep descents in mountain valleys are difficult to reach, the OUED Laou family is located next to the street. The river is ideal for those traveling with small children and becomes a wide lake and the entry into the water is gently with little electricity. Wide shingle beach with huts to sit. Popular wild swimming place with locals and perfect for a mid-trip dip. Directions as for OUED IFERTEN.
Paradise Valley
Regardless of whether you like walks, cafés, wild river fishfoot spas, hikes, wild swimming or cliff jump, Paradise Valley has something for you. Enjoy the dramatic mountain landscape, surrounded by palm trees and the gentle hissing of the Tamraght river while running around the ankles. The pool has a deeper and flatter section that is ideal for families for families with small children who can swim and enjoy the day. Follow Tamraght the P1001 for 27 km to the parking lot (30.5887, -9.5311); Leave the way on the back and follow the side of the mountain until you reach an intersection. A path leads you down to the river and up the mountain. Follow the path down to the river to feed cafés and fish foot spas, where you can be fed and spoiled next to the river. Follow the river to your left for 15 minutes until you reach a natural pool.
Lac tanda
So outside the mix that you have to find a willing locals to show them … but it is worth it (and you will love it to show you). A magical secret grotto with an idyllic blue pool and a cascade LAC standard is hidden from the Cascade d’Isuzzzer Marmohau. There are several access equipment, but all contain a few steep rocks and there is no defined path. Start in the Cascade d’Amouzz Marmohauha and follow the river downstream. Note that the water is not visible or navigable with GPS. So ask one of the local children to show them the way.
Cascades d’uzoud
Huge and impressive waterfalls that are worth pursuing. However, the main stations were very touristy, with a variety of caf stress and restaurants, to ensure refreshment, while visitors are amazed at their splendor. We prefer things a bit wild and adventurous, so we passed the steep path over the jewelry shops to find the smaller waterfalls.
The intensive power of the waterfalls caused an energetic swimming when we tried to swim under the water currents. The further we went, the wilder it became (pass on the monkeys)
There are small campsites and cafés on the river under the oleanders and the flora. We swam in the first falls in a large natural pool (simple entry through Camping Africa). The intensive power of the waterfalls caused a joyful and energetic swimming and a real training when we tried to swim under the water currents. The further we went along the river, the wilder the place. Keep out for monkeys. Paid parking spaces near the main falls against a small fee; We drove at the end of the dead end and parked on the street, on which there were green and white markings (32,0143, -6,7188 free parking); From the bridge to OUED TISSAKHT, the cursed and turn right. At the end of the dead end follow the concrete path to stands and then go right towards the main cases or down to the river for the small waterfalls and beyond.
