Some patients who have to deal with long, covidal fatigue, brain fog, shortness of breath and a greatly reduced quality of life, similar to Parkinson’s or stroke survivors, find researchers in a new study.
Most people who suffer a Covid 19 infection experience a short illness with cold, sore throat or cough and fever for a few days before they recover better and completely.
However, several that have overcome the new Coronavirus still suffer a variety of symptoms that are called Long Covid with the virus infection in which the World Health Organization.
While earlier examinations have determined these long, covidal symptoms as mainly tiredness, brain fog and shortness of breath, the exact effect of the long -term illness on the daily lifespan of survivors remains unclear.
Now a new study, published in the Australian Journal of Primary Health, confirms that Long Covid is not only an uncomfortable illness, but also deeply restricts the daily lifespan of the patients.

In research, scientists rated 121 adults who contacted Covid-19 at some point between 2020 and mid-2022, and corresponded to a long covidal patient at the end of 2022.
The researchers interviewed the participants about their disabilities and functions they had every day together with their perceived quality of life.
The participants carried out two surveys that were often used to measure disability and quality of life: the WHO assessment plan for disabilities and the short form health survey.
The researchers found that Long Covid has been associated with a strong reduction in quality of life and the ability to do basic life tasks compared to levels observed in the general population.
About 86 percent of the participants stated that “clinically significant disability and participation restrictions on daily activities,” wrote the scientists.
“Months or years later, they still fought with daily activities that they had once considered a matter of course” The conversation.
According to the study, this cohort of 121 people with long covid had “higher disabilities than 98 percent of the general population”.
“The general effects can be tightened in people with existing comorbidities that are primarily more susceptible to Long Covid,” warned scientists.
Researchers are calling for stronger efforts to support long, covidal patients, prioritize the management of their tiredness and bring them into a position in which they can perform important daily activities.
“The results underline the need for a targeted rehabilitation and support services for people living in Australia with long covid and other longitudinal examinations in order to examine the long-term effects on disability and quality of life and to inform the provision of guidelines and healthcare,” said.
