Stan Collymore described Darwin Nunez as a “massive disappointment” and insists that he is good enough to play for Liverpool. However, the former Reds record signing is of the opinion that the Uruguayan for Newcastle United could be a good signing, and advised the Magpies to sign the striker in part in an exchange for Alexander Isak.
Nunez came to a contract in the summer of 2022 a deal worth 85 million GBP from Benfica to Liverpool, but has done three seasons in Anfield.
When he returned 40 goals and 22 templates from 136 appearances, after Arne Slots he limited the starting opportunities as head coach.

17 players under the Dutch, 17 came from the start with only eight of those in the Premier League. In the meantime, he only achieved seven times the entire season.
In contrast, Isak was one of the stars of the campaign and scored 23 goals for Newcastle in all competitions, including the potential winner against Liverpool in the league -coal final of this month.
The Reds belong to a number of teams associated with a summer train for the Swedish international, but there is no guarantee that he can leave St. James’ Park. However, Nunez Liverpool is expected to leave after an overwhelming campaign.
Collymore, who took part in Nottingham Forest in 1995 for a fee of 8.5 million GBP, supported his former club for signing Isak. And he also has his say in Nunez ‘fighting and admitted that he is simply not up to date.
“I think Captured away from. “And I think Isak would do very well in Liverpool, and it could be one that could be observed.
“Darwin Nunez has arrived in Liverpool as a very confident player, and now he looks to robots – and this is probably due to the pressure under which he is in Anfield, a full fish cooker compared to what he has experienced in Benfica.
“He just does not look confident, composed or relaxed, even if his goal output is not as bad as many people are exhausting. And the longer this pressure remains, the more difficult it gets for him and it has already started to influence its decision -making on the field and especially against the goal.
“Nunez is definitely affected by his experience in Liverpool, and I think he should go – just say that he has not grown in Liverpool, which can be very irreconcilable.
“My recording in Liverpool is often recorded and I had 50 hit contributions in 89! And the problem for Nunez is that he is compared with the great strikers of Liverpool like Ian Rush, Fernando Torres, by Luis Suarez, Michael Owen if he takes care of them.
“Isak would be a massive upgrade to Nunez. His all-round game is what Liverpool needs with a striker, and in my opinion, Newcastle could benefit from Nunez.
“There is certainly a player in there, but he is not someone who can do a player for a club like Liverpool who exercises so much test and pressure. He would go really well with Newcastle, and her followers would love him.
“Newcastle is a really big club, so it would not feel like a massive step for Nunez, but the most important thing is that the pressure would not be told that way.
“And I think Eddie Howe, who, in my opinion, will become England Manager in the future, can make Nunez a player who thought he would be in Liverpool.
“Whatever happens, I think Liverpool will leave Liverpool in summer, but it would not surprise me if he would go to Newcastle, with Isak going in the opposite direction, since the two clubs could achieve an amicable agreement if they consider their respective FFP situations.”
