The NRL Integrity Unit is investigating a alleged incident in the press box between a journalist for Guardian Australia and New Zealand Warrior’s co -trainer Richard Agar during the start of the season against Canberra in Las Vegas.
John Davidson, an Australian -based Australian in Great Britain, who was in the United States to cover the game as a freelancer, was allegedly abused by agar and verbally.

The incident was said to have taken place in the Allegian Stadium during half -time when Canberra led the Warriors 16: 4. The Raiders achieved 30-8 winners through the Kiwi Club.
Cameron George, Managing Director of New Zealand Warriors, said on Monday morning that after the game, he was “a suspected incident in the half -time in which assistant coach Richard Agar and an English journalist John Davidson from the Guardian” were involved.
“This morning I had the opportunity to speak to the NRL Integrity Unit. They work through their process that will include us, ”said George.
“I hope that your process is efficient and fast so that we can give clarity on this matter.”
Agar was contacted by the warriors, but the club said that there is “no further comment in this phase”.
Agar is an English trainer and former player who recently held a head coaching role in Leeds Rhinos until he stepped down in 2022. He joined the Warriors the following year.
Davidson is a sports journalist who treats several football codes and wrote for a series of rugby league titles as well as the Guardian, the I -paper and the SBS.
