Amazon granted the offer for the purchase of Tiktok, an official from the Trump Administration said in a place in the eleventh hour as a US platform ban on Saturday.
The official said the Amazon offer was made in a letter to Vice President JD Vance and the Minister of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
The New York Times reported for the first time.
President Donald Trump on the inauguration day gave the platform a break that came by a law that had been unanimously confirmed by the Supreme Court of Justice, said that the ban was necessary for national security.
According to the law, Tikke’s parent company of Tikkok Bydetance must sell the platform to an approved buyer or do it offline in the USA.
Mr. Trump suggested that he could continue to extend the break of the ban, but he also said that he would expect a deal to be fake by Saturday.
Amazon refused to comment.
The existence of an Amazon offer appeared when Mr. Trump was planned on Wednesday to meet with high -ranking civil servants to discuss the coming deadline for a TikTok sale.
Both the FBI and the Federal Communications Commission have warned that bytedance could share user data such as searching the history, the location and the biometric identifier – with China’s authoritarian government.
Tikok said it never did it and wouldn’t do it if she was asked.
The US government has not submitted any evidence of this.
Mr. Trump has millions of supporters on Tikkok and helped the Trendeteting platform with him to win among the young voters within the framework.
During his first term, he represented a more skeptical view of Tikkok and granted executive regulations, banned businesses with bytedance and the owners of the Chinese messaging app Wechat.
