The captain of Australia, Steve Smith, says his team is confident that on Tuesday in their semi-finals of the Champions Trophy in Dubai India’s quality spin attack.

The two teams will compete in the Dubai International Stadium in a retirement of the 2023 World Cup won by Australia in Ahmedabad.

Australia defeated Rivals England in its opening game with five gates, but their next two games were abandoned in the Pakistani cities of Rawalpindi and Lahore due to rain.

India scored three victories from three in Group A with a win over New Zealand on Sunday, which was provided by their four spinners in a tricky place.

Varun Chakravarthy took 5-42 in Dubai in just his second one-day international with 5-42 to increase his selection.

“Yes, I mean, not just chakravarthy, I think the rest of her spin is also quality,” Smith told reporters on Monday.

“So I think that the game is likely to be won and lost how we play your shoot, especially in the middle over how we get through there. It will be a challenge …

“I think there will be a bit of turning, after the look. Yes, we have to counteract it … We have a few ways how we can do it.”

The world champions miss several important players, including Fast Bowler Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc.

But Smith said you could call part-time spinners, including Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne, to support Adam Zampa and Glenn Maxwell on a route that he believes that it looks “a dry surface”.

“We have many part -time options that could certainly play a role here and a few frontliners,” he said.

– Aggressive head –

Cooper Connolly, an all -rounder, the left arm, has joined the squad as a replacement for Matthew Short, which was excluded from the rest of the tournament due to a thigh injury.

Both Australia and the winners of Group B from South Africa are from Pakistan to Dubai, without knowing who they would play in the semi-finals, for which the India-New Zealand game was decided.

India was beaten up because they played all their games at an event location in Dubai, while other teams are broadcast between three Pakistani cities and the United Arab Emirates.

India refused to play Pakistan in Pakistan for political reasons.

But Smith played every perceived disadvantage.

“In the end we guessed properly,” said Smith in his team to Dubai.

“We had reset a little and the chance of having a few days outside of a rather strict bladder, I assume with certainty and things in Pakistan. It was nice to train here for a few days.”

Australia defeated India in the World Cup final in 2023 by six gates, with the head reaching an unbeaten 137.

“I mean every time you play in a big game,” said Smith from Head.

“But as we know, Travis has appeared in many of them in the past. And you know, he recently looked against Afghanistan in great touch.

“I am sure that he will come out of here and play as well as he played for a long time, with good intentions, good aggression.”

South Africa will compete against New Zealand in the second semi -finals in Lahore.
