Only a few months after SpaceX had landed on the Bahamas for the first time, according to News Wire reports, the country has taken a break for future landings up to the environmental exam.
A top government officer from Bahamas announced on Tuesday (April 15) that the state has exposed the future SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket landings until a “complete environmental assessment” has been completed, Reuters reported.
“No further release is granted until a complete environmental assessment is checked,” Reuters quoted the Bahamische Communication Director Latrae Rahming as a letter on the Social Media website X.
SpaceX landed his first Falcon 9 on the Bahamas on February 18 at a Starlink satellite fleet start. The Booster of Falcon 9 in the first stage returned to earth to land on a SpaceX drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean off the Bahamian coast.
“Our new landing cooperation with the Bahamas will enable Falcon 9 to start new orbital trajectories,” SpaceX wrote about X. After this flight, officials said on the Bahamas that they had expected up to 19 more SpaceX landings all year round, but these landings were subject to official approval, Reuters reported.
It is unclear whether the country priority in Falcon 9 in the Bahamas comes from the recent re -entry of SpaceX’s flight 8 starship vehicle, which exploded and regulated during a test start on March 6 on parts of the Bahamas. SpaceXS Starship vehicle from SpaceX is a new reusing section -spececraft that differs from the company’s work horse.
