Nobody has to remind you that fashion and art go hand in hand, but the Tampa Art Museum will make it even clearer with a Balmain fashion show.
For its characteristic fundraising campaign “City: Fashion+Art+Culture” on March 29, the museum will present a runway show with the spring collection of the European Luxury House’s spring 2025. The event, which is the 14th year of the museum, will benefit the museum’s educational programs.

The museum associated with Balmain about the co-chair from Enrique Crespo, Allison Guimard and Debra Williams with Crespo, an interior designer, which, according to its director of marketing and communication, Nina Contreras Womeldur, is decisive. Four hundred guests are expected at this year’s runway show, which looks at the museum’s South Terrace in the city center of Tampa and the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and the Hillsborough River.
Tickets start at $ 500 and there are sponsorship options for those who want a VIP experience and a seat in the first row. The sponsorship of the top level is $ 75,000 for a present sponsor, which includes several tickets, access to a VIP hour and reserved seats on the inside. Balmain, which has registered as a sponsor for $ 50,000, will not receive any proceeds from the ticket sale because the event is only a fundraising campaign, said Womeldurf. The museum expects to collect around 200,000 US dollars, whereby all revenues go to its art education programs.
Sponsors of the upcoming event were invited to a Balmain -Trunk show that recently took place in the Stovall House, a private club in Tampa, and a second trunk show that is open to all guests with a ticket is planned in the region. The Runway looks include styles with complicated decorations such as complex pearl patterns, pictures and portraits, including some creations that required hundreds of thousands of pearls and weeks of embroidery. Together with the start of Les éternels de Balmain, a collection of eight scents, the spring show showed glittering embroidery from lipstick mouth and red manic doors on evening columns, sculptural cocktail dresses, overalls and curved jackets with jutting-pagoda patterns. The creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteins, told the WWD last autumn that he wanted to “include the beauty world in the fashion world, and I believe that this will be a really strong turn for the future”.
Although Rusteins are not expected at the show, he and other members of the Balmain team have forwarded their ideas for the Runway show, said Womeldurf. Tick owners enjoy an after party with representatives from Balmain from the USA present and receive a curated gift bag from Balmain at the end of the night. “The biggest challenge for us is to scale this show because it opens our doors to a new audience and can also pave the way for the future city: fashion+art+culture events,” said Womeldurf.
Balmain has no lack of fans or followers, given the 12.3 million Instagram followers from the luxury house and the 9.9 million followers from Rousteins on his own Instagram page.
Thanks to the show of this month, the museum is already a designer for the show next year, she said. “We do not make an announcements so that Balmain attracts all attention. It is something that we will announce later this year. “
The Tampa Art Museum was originally started in 1920 as the Tampa Museum of Fine Arts and is now located in the 66,000 square meter building Cornelia Corbett Center, which was designed by the San Francisco Architect Stanley Saitowitz. Womeldurf said: “We are only pleased that Balmain has selected Tampa Bay. We believe that it is a good reflection of growth that we have seen in our region, and the diversity of the talent that cultivates the Tampa Bay Area. One of the nice things is that we are in the spotlight for the entire region. “
