Brown University to see half a billion federal financing, which was stopped by Trump Administration

Washington (AP) – the Trump administration plans to keep more than half a billion dollars of contracts and grants for Brown University, and added a list of Ivy League Colleges, whose federal money had threatened their federal money due to their answers to anti -Semitism, said an official of the White House.

Almost 510 million US dollars in federal contracts and grants come from, said the official, who was not entitled to speak publicly about the plan and to speak on the condition of anonymity.

In an e -mail to the campus executives, Brown Provost said Frank Doyle that the university was aware of the “worrying rumors” about the government’s measures in relation to their research money. “At that moment we have no information to prove these rumors,” said Doyle.

It comes two days after the government of President Donald Trump has hired the research grants at Princeton University. Dozens of universities are faced with a wave of pro-Palestinian protests last year before a federal examinations for anti-Semitism, but the government addressed special attention at elite universities.

Columbia University was the first to be targeted and lost $ 400 million in federal funds with threats to cancel more if the campus was not safer for Jewish students. The school approved several government demands last month, including revision of the student discipline rules of the students and a review of the school department for the school in the Middle East.

Trump’s government has promised a more aggressive approach to campus anti -Semitism and accused the former President Joe Biden to let the schools out of the hook. It opened new investigations to Colleges and has imprisoned and deported several foreign students with connections to propalestinian protests.
