Borussia Dortmund’s brain defender Nico Schlotterbeck will no longer play this season after he has torn the meniscus in the left knee, the club said on Monday.

“Nico’s absence meets us very hard,” said the sports director of Dortmund, Sebastian Kehl, in a club declaration.

“We hope he quickly gets fit again and gets maximum support from us on the way back.”

Schlotterbeck, who missed the 4-1 win in Freiburg on Saturday on Saturday, was one of the best players in Dortmund in a bad season for the club.

The finalists of the Champions League last season, Dortmund, fell into eighth place in the league and only has one chance from outside next season to qualify for the top competition in Europe.

Schlotterbeck has 20 caps and established himself as a starter in Julian Nagelsmann’s side, who will play Portugal in the semi -finals of the Nations League in the semi -finals of the Nations League in June.

However, the defense lawyer’s hopes of returning to the Nations League in good time look slim.

The German Media Report Dortmund would like to assume the Treaty of Schlotterbeck, which runs in 2027 due to interest from abroad, including the leaders of the Premier League, Liverpool.

Dortmund will play in the quarter -finals of the Champions League in Barcelona on Wednesday, followed by a trip to the domestic rival Bayern Munich on Saturday.
