Duplantis on song while he breaks his own Pole Vault World Record

The Swedish Olympic champion Armand Duplantis broke his own world record at the All Star Pole Vault in Clermont-Ferrand on Friday at the All Star Pole Vault in Clermont-Ferrand and then promoted a different kind of record.

After Duplantis secured victory in the competition with a bar at 6.07 m, she then aimed at the world record, increased the bar to 6.27 meters and solved it the first time.

It was the 11th time that he had broken the record by one centimeter since he claimed for the first time with a jump of 6.16 m in February 2020.

Duplantis made sure that his song “BOP” – just published on time for the meeting – played in the arena.

“That was my song that played,” said the breathless duplantis immediately after the jump. “When I made this song a few months ago, I found that this Wold could be a perfect song that I can jump here. So I spent it out.”

But the athlete born in Louisiana refused to sing.

This is the second time that Duplantis, 25, has improved his traces in Clermont Ferrand. He jumped around 6.22 m in February 2023.

“I will enjoy that now, I’ll have a good time tonight and enjoy it,” he said.

On August 25, 2024, Duplantis set up the previous record of 6.26 meters at a meeting of the Diamond League in Chorzow, Poland.

That was only a few weeks after he had earned 6.25 Olympic gold in Paris with his ninth world record.

On Friday, Duplantis and Emmanouil Karalis, the Olympic bronze medalist, 6.02 m. The Greek jumper then decided that “no risks” after he felt and withdrawn cramps.

Duplantis broke the tie by loosening 6.07 m and immediately increasing the rod 20 cm.

The All Star Pole Vault meeting was the second season season for Duplantis, which returned to the competition in Berlin on February 14 at 6.10 m.

He had decided to take part in Cermont and skip the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn in the Netherlands on March 6th to 9th.

“I just love it here,” said Duplantis. “I love the atmosphere here. I jump really well here. Everyone jumps really well here. That’s why I didn’t go to Europe.”

On March 13th in Uppsala, Sweden, he will jump again in a meeting he organized before going to the World Championships in the world on March 21st to 23rd in China in China.

When asked when he will break 6.30, Duplantis first replied “28, 29”.
