Ed Sheeran sells Pollock style paintings for £ 900

Ed Sheeran will sell prints in his “downtime” for a little more than 900 pounds in Jackson Pollock style.

The singer, 34, who was awarded the Grammy Award, has obliged to donate half of the remedies from his abstract work of art for his non -profit foundation.

Sheeran announced the sale and told The Guardian that he had used painting as a “creative outlet” since the end of his divide tour in 2019.

“When I grew up, my two parents worked in art, so of course I was always interested in it,” said the form of her singer.

His painting style, which was compared with that of Pollock, the American abstract expressionist giant, is said to be inspired by “heavenly patterns”.

The work with the title The Cosmic Carpark paintings and created with household color are represented in the Heni Gallery – the company, which Damien Hirst – represent in London from July 11th to August 1st.

Fifty percent of the proceeds are donated to the Ed Sheeran Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting music training in schools and basic organizations.

Sheeran explained how he got into the medium and said: “I was on tour last year and used a lot of my downtime in Great Britain.

The paintings have titles such as the unfolding of Kosmos and Starlight Canvas Dream. Sheeran previously donated another painting to a charity auction in which it was sold for £ 40,000.

The musician has also created the cover for some of his albums in the past, including the Blue Spin Painting on 2017’s Divide, which was created in Hirsts Studio, and for his 2021 single afterlow.

His personal collection includes works by Harland Miller, the author of Yorkshire and artist, who is known for his great art in Penguin book.

“I have pretty much the most provocative word that is prominently exhibited in my home,” said Sheeran and added: “My father said, as long as you enjoy art, you never lose.”

The singer’s announcement is made to the sale of his work of art after having headed the demand for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starrer to commit 250 million pound of state funds for music training.

The campaign was supported by Coldplay, Harry Styles and Sir Elton John under 500 other figures in the industry.

In an open letter, Sheeran wrote: “As an industry, we bring £ 7.6 billion into the British economy, but the next generation is not there to take over the reins. Last year the first one was in the charts for over 20 years without a British top -10 single or an album.

“Time to act is now. State schools that raise 93 percent of the country’s children have a reduction in music supply of 21 percent.

“This spring we ask together a musical music package in Great Britain to repair music for decades. Music in and outside of school should be for everyone.”
