Gare du Nord also connects Paris with other international destinations such as in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany as well as for domestic services.

It is considered the most powerful train station in the world outside of Japan.

It is not unusual to discover non -exploded war bombs along the railway lines in France, although they rarely occur in such densely populated areas. British and American armies focused on the train stations in Paris during the Second World War to disturb the German supply lines.
