Everton has announced several changes on how the association is operated under the Friedkin Group, with Angus Kinnear as CEO of Leeds and Kevin Thelwell as CEO, when his contract runs this summer.

The new owners of Everton intend to end the director of the football model and to switch to a wider “sports leadership team”. Thelwell has been director of football since 2022 and helped the club with a turbulent time under Farhad Moshiri, including two points and serious financial restrictions, but will leave at the end of the season.

“I am very proud of what we have achieved under the most difficult circumstances in the past three years, and I think I will leave the club in a much stronger position than when I joined in 2022,” said Thelwell.

Senior dates for the new sports tour team will be announced in due course. Everton had left without constant managing directors, Barrett-Baxendale had left among the protests from Fan in June 2023.

In a club declaration it says: “The planning of the summer transfer window is already underway, led by the sports department and David Moyes”.
