The former referee Dermot Gallagher asked the Premier League to change an immediate change after James Tarkowski from Everton only emerged with one booking according to a wild challenge in the Merseyside derby.

Despite his duel in the 11th minute, the former Burnley Center-Back was allowed to stay on the field, making contact with the Alexis Mac Allister of Liverpool above his knee. The ugly successor left the Argentine midfielder in pain when he was treated in Angeld after the incident.

The World Cup winner was finally able to import on the way to a 1-0 win and ended the full 90 minutes in a collision with thoroughbred. In the meantime, Toffees Skipper Tarkowski was only issued one booking, with Var Paul Tierey not determining a clear and obvious mistake with the initial call from referee Sam Barrots.

Since then, this wisdom of the decision to spend the two-time England international for the challenge has been questioned by numbers such as Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville and former referee Mike Dean. Now ex-Official Gallagher has joined the choir of critics when he revealed that he had the feeling that the tackle justified a discharge.

On Sky Sports’ Ref Watch, the retired referee admitted that the Tackle has met all criteria of the Premier League regulations for serious foul – which means that Tarkowski should be sent on the basis of the ruling book of the division.

He explained: “I was [of the opinion it should be red card]. It is a very bad tackle. You look at the tick boxes – speed, intensity, contact point outside of control. It all crosses them.

“I thought it was red when Var checked – and I thought the referee would be referred to the screen. If he had done it, I don’t think there was any doubts that it would have been sent from the screen.

The Professional Games Match Officizen (PGMOL) have now stated that the tackle should have led to the sending of Tarkowski. They said: “PGMOL noticed that Tarkowski first played the ball, but it was of the opinion that his successor to Mac Allister reached the threshold for serious fouls and was therefore worthy of a red card.”

Gallagher also claimed that the decision to allow the defender to stay on the field should now call for a rule change from the PGMOL. He said: “The PGMOL has to start checking from today. In Sam Barlott’s defense, I think that he will be one of the best referees ever sees this country.

“I’ve said that for a few years. I made big mistakes when I learned. It is not discouraging, but it is new and you learn. It’s about how strong it comes out.”

He added: “I think the post season is too late, it has to be today. You have recognized that this morning and I think you will work with the referees, say we look at it and think that this duel is not permissible.

“If the referee does not see the tackle and the Var sees it, you have to draw attention to the deposits to take a look at it [at it] and guide him that these are ticks [all the neccessary] Box [for a ] red card. “
