The government will take a AI chat bot to court to help people negotiate their 700,000-page GOV.
It is expected that the chat bot will be part of the new GOV.UK app that will start on Tuesday.
The initial “public beta” version that is still being processed is intended to enable users to access information and support without having to search the Internet every time.
However, the ministers expect to add new functions, including a chat bot that is due later this year that the department for science, innovation and technology would “help people get answers to niche questions faster”.
Further functions, including the application for services, will be added later.
Technology secretary Peter Kyle said the new app “shows for the first time how this government is revising taxpayers financed”.
He said: “By putting public services in our pockets, we will abolish chunky paper forms and hours that are applied to the queue so that you can get the information you need immediately and continue with the rest of your day.”
Since the arrival of power, the ministers have urged the government departments to use the technology more, and Sir Keir Starrer asked his cabinet to include AI in a big speech in their departments at the beginning of the year.
The start of Tuesday described as “just the start” added that the future KI chatbot would give questions about state services “immediately a reliable answer”.
He said the app would also present “personal notifications” to remind people of when it was due dead or when to register to vote.
It is also expected that the government will later introduce a new online letter pocket that comprises digital versions of official documents, starting with the veteran card and a pilot for a digital guide.
