by The 2025 Met Gala is around the corner. Before its spring exhibition “Superfine: Tacoring Black Style”, the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s costume institute organizes its annual gala on the first Monday in May.
In February, the celebrities were unveiled for the event, with the editor -in -chief of Mode, Anna Wintour, to Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, a $ Ap Rocky and Pharrell Williams. This year, LeBron James will act as honorary chairman. The MET also repeats its tradition of a star committee occupied by star.

Topic and exhibition
The topic 2025 Met Gala is “Superfine: Tailoring the Black Style” and honors the exhibition of the museum, which highlights the archetype of the black dandy. Inspired by the guest curator Monica L. Miller’s book “Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of the Black Diasporic Identity”, it is the first fashion exhibition of the MET 2003 that focuses on men’s clothing.
The exhibition contains clothing, photos, paintings and much more, with black Sartorial innovations being highlighted from the 18th century to the present.
Exhibition data: May 10 to October 26, 2025 in the Met Fifth Avenue, Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Exhibition Hall (Gallery 999, Boden 2).
Curatorial team: Organized by Monica L. Miller (guest curator, Barnard College), with Andrew Bolton, William Degregorio, Amanda Garfinkel and others from the costume institute. The exhibition design concerns artists TARKWARKASE Dyson, Tanda Francis and Iké Udé.
An illustrated catalog with new photography by Tyler Mitchell and over 30 essays accompanies the exhibition, which was published and distributed by the Met of Yale University Press.

Dressing
This year’s dress code is “tailored for you”, an allusion to the focus of the exhibition on suit and men’s fashion. The participants are encouraged to creatively interpret tailor -made silhouettes, fabrics and accessories and to reflect the topics of the exhibition.

The MET GALA is only an invitation. The guest list is decided by Anna Wintour, who holds the names a secret until the day of the event.
Ticket prices
In 2025, the tickets for the Met Gala cost around 35,000 US dollars, while a table for 10 between 200,000 and 300,000 US dollars can be enough.
From the 1970s in the 1980s, the admission price was still less than $ 1,000. Until 1998, the price of a single ticket rose to 2,000 US dollars. Since the Gala ticket price has become a famous event, it has increased exponentially.
