Harriet Dart, the British no. 4, complained about her opponent’s smell and said that she had to wear “deodorant” in a strange incident during a difficult defeat.
Dart suffered a straight output from the Rouen Open when Lois Boisson dominated a 6-0, 6-3 encounter.
But an occasionally uncamples saw the tensions inflamed when the 28-year-old asked the referee to instruct Boisson to deal with her body odor.
“Can you tell her that she should wear deodorant?” Asked Dart, in the comments picked up on the microphones, placed a judicial side at the beginning of the second set. “Because the smell,” said Dart. “Can you tell her that she should wear deodorant? She smells really bad.”
Boisson only took 28 minutes to secure the first set in an impressive performance according to the latest injury issues.
Dart also suffered a defeat in the Charleston Open at the end of March, her first event of the season.
She was part of the Great Britain squad, who secured progress in the Billie Jean King Cup final with the double rubber against Germany this weekend.
Elina Svitolina is the top seeds that participates in the WTA event in Rouen. Darts GB teammate Sonay Kartal took eighth place after he had appeared sharply in the past few months to increase the ranking.
Elsewhere, after a 6-7 (3) 6-4 6-3 defeat against world number 27 Karen Khachanov, Cameron Norrie suffered an exit in the first round in the Barcelona Open.
British No. 3 Norrie, which has dropped to 88 in the ATP ranking, saved on the way on the way to taking a narrow opening set for a tie.
After the 29-year-old had lost the first three games from Set Two, he saw the last 16 course on the course after driving 4: 3 with a break.
But the Russian Khachanov struck back immediately before securing progress in two hours and 18 minutes to hold a meeting with Spaniard Jaume Munar.
In the meantime, Carlos Alcaraz overcame a combination performance of American Youngster Ethan Quinn to get into the 16th round.
