Wanderers and Birmingham City were both charged by the FA after the “mass confrontation” during the last phase in the Toughet community stage in the last week.
The minds flared up in the fifth minute of the break after Jordi Osei-Tutu was announced near the corner flag.
As soon as things had settled, Osei-Tutu, Chris Forino, Luke Harris and Christoph Klarer were all booked by referee Thomas Kirk.
Bolton came from behind to secure a 3-1 win that night thanks to goals from John Mcateee, George Thomason and Aaron Collins.
It was only the defeat of the third division of the blues and her first since November 23 against Shrewsbury.
Both clubs were given until Wednesday, March 12, to react to their respective charges.
An explanation of the official FA spokesman account was: “Bolton Wanders and Birmingham City were charged on Tuesday, March 4, after the mass confrontation in their EFL League One game.
“Both clubs supposedly did not ensure that their players do not behave inappropriate and/or provocative in the 95th minute.
“Bolton Wanderers and Birmingham City have until Wednesday March 12th to deliver their respective answers.”
Hikers are back in action on Tuesday evening when they go to the Memorial Stadium to take over against Bristol Rovers.
The white ones won five of their last six games in the league and sit with 11 games in the play-off locations.
Steven Schumacher’s men will also organize Stockport County this weekend before the international break.
