Stephen Curry scored 52 points and Draymond Green added a triple double when the Golden State Warriors achieved a decisive victory from 134-125 against the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.
Curry, the chairman of the NBA at three -point shooting, once again demonstrated his long -term skills and drained 12 out of 20 attempts from outside the sheet of Memphis’ FedExforum.
The shimmering shooting performance of the 37-year-old helped the Warriors vault over the grizzlies in fifth place in the Western Conference rating and pushed them closer to an automatic playoff base.
The Warriors improved to 44-31, while the grizzlies fell to sixth place with a 44-32 record. The six top finishers in the west automatically qualify for the post -season.
Curry’s masterpiece is a second 50-point game of the season and the 15th of his career sausages supported by a triple of defensive linchpin of Jimmy Butler.
Green ended with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.
Warriors trainer Steve Kerr praised Curry’s virtuoso display, which has left the Golden State firmly for the playoffs.
“The 37 -year -old guy is incredible,” said Kerr. “Fifty -two points with people who draped the whole game all over the game.
“I can’t believe that he is still doing this at this age. But he used the work and he still has it.”
Grizzlies Interims trainer Tuomas Iisalo, who took over the team last week after Taylor Jenkins was shocked, was similar to Curry.
– ‘sight to see’ –
“It is a sight to see how he works,” said Iisalo and revealed that the team had been helpless to stop a rush from Curry in the first quarter, which contained 19 points.
“In the first quarter we had a specific strategy that we didn’t want him to shoot three points-and he found a way to stop a player in this caliber anyway.
“As soon as he comes into this zone, it is very difficult to get it. I think we talk about the best motion shooters ever.”
Memphis, who waned up to 17 points in the first quarter, left her inability to preserve a rally in the second half, where they had opened a lead with four points with almost four minutes.
Yes Morant led the grizzlies goal with 36 points, while Jaren Jackson Jr. 22 added.
“Everyone just injured in this changing room,” said Iisalo. “It really hurts when you jeopardize everything and arise a bit briefly. But that’s life, that’s sport.”
Elsewhere, Gianni’s Antetokounmpo scored 37 points when the Milwaukee Bucks achieved a defeat against four games with a win of 133-123 against the Phoenix Sun.
Devin Booker scored 39 points for Phoenix, but it was not sufficient to prevent the sun from falling to a fourth defeat in a row-a mini-smoke in the late season that endangered her playoff hopes.
The Suns are now in 11th place in the west with a 35-41 record that has the 10th plate Sacramento king (36-39). The teams took the 7th to 10th place in the conference classification to a tournament with four teams that determines the last two playoff tickets.
The Indiana Pacers were the youngest team that had won their playoff place after the Atlanta Hawks had dropped a defeat of 127-113 against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The result made sure that the Pacers, the fourth in the Eastern Conference with a 44-31 record, guaranteed a Top-Six finish.
