The English captain Harry Kane believes that he will be the longest reigning international in his country and end his career with the World Cup in 2026.
The 31-year-old striker scored on Monday in the 3-0 victory against Latvia against Latvia on Monday and also found the network for his 71st international goal.
This game was Kanes 105 in England Colors to be just 20 games behind the national record of goalkeeper Peter Silton.
“It is definitely there. I made it clear that I would like to play for England as long as possible,” said Kane.
“Of course there are many games before the World Cup and hopefully eight games in this tournament.
“It has been 10 years this week (Thursday) since I played for England for the first time. It was a great journey, many ups, many depths.”
He added: “Now it is a new era, a new chapter, and I am happy to have more years here for more years and to get wide in tournaments and to have these special moments in this country and to give fans what we all want to desperate, namely to win a large trophy.”
In the meantime, Kane said that the players have no voice when planning, but he would never refuse to play when he is looking for trophies.
With an increased schedule of the Champions League, a larger World Cup and the latest expansion of the European Championship, top players play more games than ever before.
The Bayern Munich Club of Kane is located around the Champions League and participates in the revised World Cup in summer.
Kane could get by with an international window in between without a sensible summer break.
“I don’t think the players are heard so much when I’m completely honest. But everyone also wants their piece, their tournament, their price and the players are the people who have to go on,” he said.
“But it is what it is. I love playing football, so I will never complain about playing football.
“I think if you do it well with your coaches and managers and your clubs, there are ways to calm down at certain moments.”
