Like David Beckham and Cara Delevingne, do a committed playroom at home

The hottest trend for houses in London? Of course, luxury playing room (evidence, if it was needed that land objects – with their kitchens outdoors, saunas and boots – do not have all the fun).

The most stylish restaurants in the capital first did it from Mount St. in Mayfair with his card table and Brigadiers in the city with his poker croupier, but now celebrities have put on the plot by cutting their own committed rooms from the comfort of their wasteful houses.

For a tour of her house from the 1930s in LA with architectural Digest, modeled model and actress Cara Delevingne a poker room inspired by David Lynch with a vintage game table, ball pit and Wheel of Fortune; Mega-celebrity David Beckham showed a billiard table in his superbarn from Cotswolds in his Netflix documentary. And Instagram founder Kevin Systrom gave a view of his Milo Baughman Games mirror table on his retreat in Lake Taoe, also for a tour with AD.

Now the trend rides down to mere mortals as they tend to. “Downtime is a serious business at the upper end of the London real estate market,” explains Toby Downes, London specialist at the real estate agent Harington UK.

“While traditional wellness rooms such as inner pools and saunas remain desirable, a new trend has occurred: committed games and leisure rooms,” added Downes.

“The advancement of experience-based venue for virtual golf, darts or table tennis hats records the imagination of the Londonians. For those with space and funds, the natural next step is to bring this excitement home in order to offer friends and family an exclusive entertainment experience in absolute privacy. “

As soon as they were designed exclusively for children, such rooms develop into beautiful rooms that correspond to the entire gang, as a recently carried out project of the same name is based on the interior design of the same name in Chelsea, from a recently carried out project.

“Customers wanted a multifunctional playroom that could be enjoyed by all generations, be it for an intensive poker night, a relaxed Sunday board game meeting or a social meeting in the bar,” she explains. “Flexibility was the key – a room that felt inviting at all times of the day and could adapt to various moods and occasions.”

In the renovation, the basement of the Notting Hill home was completely reinterpreted.

Portia says: “When we counteract the basement, we chose an Iksel wallpaper that is a Mediterranean garden scene to establish a visual connection to a large glow with an impressive olive tree – the interaction of nature and design improves the feeling of openness that the room feels far away.

“The lighting was carefully placed in zones for the versatility – bright, focused lighting over the billiard table compared to ambient lighting in other areas in order to promote an intimate atmosphere.”

A convertible pool and a snooker table as well as a table tennis setup are a number of different games, while the gaming tables are around sufficient circulation areas so that the players can also move freely.

“Comfortable seats were an important consideration, especially for games that require a longer focus, such as chess or poker,” adds Portia. “We recorded a banquet in a senard-colored Jacquard fabric, which was supplemented by large armchairs with decorative fabric back and mustard-mohair seats. Since playrooms often serve as social hubs, we have also integrated a bar area to add another entertainment level. “

Elsewhere, a villa in Villa Italian in Primrose Hill with House Collective is equipped with a playroom with a purple billiard table. An eco-house in Wimbledon to pack with Knight Frank places the right to an entertaining zone with table tennis, disco ball and foosball table. And the newly completed one Thames Quay development in Canary Wharf offers both a bowling alley and a play room in one.

Let the games start.
