London Fashion Week Axes June Edition, double Down Showroom Support in Paris

LONDON – a difficult start for Incoming Chief Executive Officer Laura Weir; The British Fashion Council said on Friday that there would be no independent London Fashion Week in June.

In response to the developing model landscape and the feedback from the BFC community of designers and brands from BFC, the BFC state that it will instead double his support for brands in London to meet international buyers in Paris by committing themselves to the London show rooms four times a year.

Last June, the BFC ceased a new format that comprises cultural programs, fashion activities and parties to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

A BFC spokesman said that the focus in June would be committed to the British men’s clothing and strengthening its presence both locally and internationally.

“We will follow a digital approach, we will work with buyers and media partners and use our own channels to make up the developing history of British men’s fashion to introduce designers for a new audience.

“By returning to targeted programs in London and Paris in June in June, we want to create strong foundations to strengthen the message of our brilliant British men’s shops. We recognize the challenges that the sector faces both in the UK and Great Britain, and continues to be global and still obliged to strengthen the voices of the British menswear designers.

The London Show Rooms have been an integral part of the support of the BFC for aspiring talents since 2008. It was set up during the Covid 19 pandemic and its financing of the European Regional Development Fund was shortened after Brexit.

The program is now under the BFC Foundation and returned to Paris with Tranoï in January 2023.

The next London showrooms will last from July 26th to 1st in Paris and coincide with the upcoming Paris men -Fashion Week.

“We are very pleased to confirm that the London show rooms during the Paris Fashion Week will offer a chance for designers from the BFC Foundation four times a year to generate sales and to develop their relationships with international media outside of a show environment and to strengthen our commitment to the provision of important commercial opportunities for British designers,” said the speaker.
