During his time in Toronto at a workplace, Martin James Burton decided to take the opportunity to visit the ontario art gallery. The photojournalist, who is based in Lewes, East Sussex, England, at lunchtime before starting art. Burton remembers his excitement to make the shot: he immediately knew that he had captured something unusual. He also saw a similarity to the painting Nighthawks by the American artist Edward Hopper, who portrays four people in a downtown diner at night. “I have always thought that photography has its own place in art, but if a photo resembles a certain painting or style, it can give her additional praise – especially if it is not preferred,” he says.
However, Burton is happy that others interpret the picture as they wish. “Maybe you see hopper or a spaceship or maybe something else. It is due to the viewer to do what you will be.”
