Max Verstappen Notes that he does not agree to with Red Bull’s decision to leave Liam Lawson

Max Verstappen has indicated that with Red Bull’s decision to make AX Liam Lawson after just two races, he disagreed.

New Zealander Lawson was canceled after a disappointing second trip in China after crashing his debut for the team in the Australian Grand Prix of the season opening.

Yuki Tsunoda, who was overlooked in favor of Lawson when Sergio Perez was replaced in December, will change places this weekend before his home race in Japan to hand over the senior team from racing bulls.

Shortly after the announcement by Red Bull, Verstappen liked a post by the former F1 driver Giedo van der Guard, who described the decision to replace Lawson as a “panic train”.

In his opinion about the decision in Japan, the Dutch said: “Well, I liked the comment so that it speaks for itself. It was not a mistake.

“My reaction was shared with the team, as I think about everything. Sometimes it is not necessary to share everything in public.

“I think our main problem is that our car is not where we want. Everyone knows that and I concentrate on it.

“As soon as the car is generally more competitive and mobile, the second car will come a little more anyway.”

Yuki tsunoda

Tsunoda has been at the second Red Bull team (David Davies/Pa) since 2021)

While he admits that he had no assurances of Team Principal Christian Horner, how long he will prove himself in addition to four world champions, Tsunoda is relaxed when he entered a new car.

“I didn’t get any specific races or times that I have to prove to myself,” said Tsunoda.

“He (Horner) supports me a lot and he just mentioned the expectation of himself what he wants.

“The pressure will always come when you have hit the track. At the moment, somehow really relaxing – it feels similar when I was at Racing Bulls when I entered the hospitality, I only thought about breakfast.

“He (Horner) wants me to be as close as possible and support him in the race. Their main priority is Max, which I understand because he is a four -time world champion.”

Lewis Hamilton said the decision to break down Lawson was “hard” (David Davies/Pa).

Red Bull’s step,

Horner said Sky Sports in Japan that the Lawson team “asked too much”.

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton said: “I am not surprised that you (Red Bull) do it.

“There is no way that you can never get to a car that is known that it is not the easiest car … just to give him two races was pretty hard.”

The 23 -year -old Lawson left China – where he qualified for both the sprint and for the race – and believed that he would drive the Red Bull in Japan and was surprised by the call.

“I had no idea in China. It was decided afterwards. It was all unexpected for all of us,” said Lawson.

“I left China to start preparing for Japan, then I had a call and said what would happen.

“I was more surprised, it was very early in the season, I was hoping to go to a route on which I had previously driven and a clean weekend.

“The decision was made and it was difficult to hear.”
