The Mexico Commission for National Protection Area (Conanp) said that butterflies coordinated 4.4 hectares (1.79 hectares) this year compared to only 2.2 hectares (0.9 hectares). Gloria Tavera Alonso, General Director for Nature Conservation Mexican agency, said the improved figures that are due to better climatic factors and humidity. The drought along the groove of the butterflies was listed as a factor for the decline of last year.
