My day in Venice costs less than a one -way ticket to London

A vacationer had a day trip to Venice for less than the price for a one -way street to London.

Kevin Gill, 43 years old, treated in the romantic Italian city of channels and waterways for only £ 71 to 18 hours.

He set a maximum budget of £ 100 to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The return flights cost him £ 44, he gave 18 pounds for bus cards to and from the airport, £ 7.50 on pizza, ice and pasta and £ 1.70 for a trip over the canal.

In the meantime, the costs for a single train ticket from his hometown Runcorn, Cheshire, to London Euston on Sunday £ 171.

Mr. Gill, who works in the pharmaceutical industry, said: “Extreme trips have transformed my ambition to see the world into reality.”

He said he was looking for a break after a break or had to book a free time, and his cousin told him about “extreme day trips” who travel abroad with two fixed rules.

The trip should be completed in less than 24 hours with a maximum budget of 100 GBP, which includes all travel expenses.

Mr. Gill, an enthusiastic traveler since he was in the twenties, liked the idea that she was booking a trip to Venice on Wednesday, February 19, and he was back to work the next day.

He said: “I felt inspired to read all of these posts on the Facebook page of different people who only travel to different places for the day.

“I had no idea how this was possible.”

He flew from Manchester Airport at 5:45 a.m. to Venice and arrived at 9:30 a.m.

He said, “The weather was nice, the sun was outside, it was nice to escape the UK.

“It was not busy, as it had said online because I was able to walk through the narrow streets and to visit the attractions without much trouble.”

He saw famous sights such as the Rialto Bridge, the Piazza San Marco and the basilica of Saint Mark.

He said the price for the trip was near what he would spend for a day trip to the Trafford Center, Manchester or in the Liverpool One Shopping complex.

He said: “A typical day trip to a shopping center can be comparable in the price.

“You would have to pay for petrol or diesel, you would shop, maybe you buy a jacket, then you would have to get something to eat, it will not be included if you want to go to the cinema – everything sums up.”

Mr. Gill then returned home and caught a flight to Manchester at 5:45 a.m. and landed in Great Britain at 7:30 a.m., which was later prepared for work a day.

Mr. Gill dreamed of seeing the world after visiting over 12 European countries, parts of America, Asia, including India and North Africa.

He said: “I no longer have to spend thousands to go on vacation for a week.

“It brought me back on days when traveling 20 years ago, cheap, accessible and affordable.”
