Ruben Amorim admitted that Manchester United had “a lot” after wolves revealed the mistakes on his stuttering side with the 1-0 victory in Old Trafford.
United’s dramatic comeback, to win 5: 4 in the quarter -finals of the Europa League on Thursday, had pointed out the numerous cracks in a team that Schwang in the 14th place in the Premier League.
But United chief Amorim is aware of the problems they plagued during a miserable domestic campaign.
Her main problem was a lack of leaders in league games, and the Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund and his striker were unable to find the network before Pablo Sarabia’s free kick secured the points for wolves
Wolves celebrated a fifth victory in a row for the first time since 1970.
In the blatant contrast, Amorim has won only six of his 22 league games since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon to replace the released Erik Ten HAG in November.
The frustration of the Portuguese coach was a club record in the Premier League -era after 15th loss of the season of United Tastable.
“If you watch the game, we were the better team, but in the end it doesn’t matter,” he said.
“If we do not score goals, nothing is important, because in the end it is the result that counts especially in such moments.
“We create a lot of chances, we checked the game. We blocked some good players from the opponent and then a verse changes the game and that is. It is really frustrating to end the game like this.
“We tell the fans the truth: that we lack many things in our team, that we miss the chances that if we do not score goals, we will not win.
“We have a lot to do and to concentrate on improving the team step by step and understanding that it will be so until the end of the league, and then we have to do something.”
United, who competes against sporty Bilbao in the semi -finals of the Europa League, urgently needs Hojlund to end a miserable run from a goal in his last 28 games.
When asked whether he could take it out of the spotlight, Amorim, even with Joshua Zirkzees, said injury to the season: “No. I think that if you look at the games, we have several players who miss great chances.
“But of course, Rasmus, the goal is to score goals because he is a striker, but it is a matter of team. I have already said.
“I only know that I can work on him and show him the videos. As you said, he has to score a goal – he will not score if he (of the team) is (of the team), so I try to manage this during the games. But he has to achieve one. Maybe that’s all a striker needs.”
