Partial solar eclipse over Herefordshire

Have you discovered the partial solar eclipse over Herefordshire?

The unusual event took place yesterday morning (March 29), and members of the Hereford Times Camera Club group on Facebook were ready with their cameras.

(Image: Tony Dell) The phenomenon occurs when the moon runs between the sun and earth. The three are not fully aligned, so only part of the sun is covered.

(Image: Ben Brotherton) The solar eclipse was visible in parts of the country, including in Herefordshire from around 10 a.m. and noon, although the later part of the event in the county was covered by cloud cover.

(Image: Kay Dickerson) The MET office used to say on Saturday that southern and eastern areas of Great Britain would have the best viewing conditions with a cloudy sky in the north and west.

When is the next part of the solar eclipse?

The next partially solar eclipse, which is visible in Great Britain, will be in August 2026, which is expected to achieve 90 percent of the darkness.

When is the next Great Britain full of solar eclipse?

The last overall eclipse in Great Britain took place on August 11, 1999 when the sun disappeared behind the moon.

According to the Royal Museum Greenwich, Great Britain will not see another full solar eclipse until 2090.
