by Postecoglou indicated that the quick progress of Lucas Bergvall Tottenham could save a defensive midfielder in the summer in summer.
Some had wondered whether Spurs could try to strengthen their opportunities in midfield this summer, but the 19-year-old mountain vall has proven to be hard and robust and composed on the ball.
Tottenham made an agreement with the Swedish side of Djurgården last February that would connect mountain Vall to them last July.
Another midfielder should be signed by the proposal, said Postecoglou: “Perhaps there is a lot because of people like Lucas, Pape [Matar Sarr]Archie [Gray]We see a lot in them to become a good midfield dynamics for us, how they can all bring something else on the table.
“Then with [Rodrigo] Bentancur, [Yves] Bissoum and [James] Maddison and now with Wilson [Odobert] come up – and deci [Dejan Kulusevski] I will definitely land there – we have some strong midfield options.
“While in summer I have the feeling that we have a position in which we are stronger in this area with this development, especially at Lucas, with a good strength, especially at Lucas.”
Postecoglou is happy about the variety of profiles that its midfielder offer.
“What I am looking for is that you have all the different things you put on the table, you are not all like that,” he said. “From this perspective, we have good flexibility in options.”
Tottenham visits Craven Cottage to face the Premier League on Sunday.
