Racing around the world is back! So far we know the following about the teams, the route and the air date

Now in five seasons, the hype for breed all over the world shows no signs of slowing down.

And why should it? The show, the couples of competitors follow when they run over impossible distances on the way to an incredibly small budget, is on TV on television. And that is taken into account before you take the price of £ 20,000 and the exciting speed with which you travel.

Now it is back for another season that will be broadcast at some point in April. When further information falls, we know today what we know so far.

The teaser promises distant places

It would not be a lot of fun if every race all over the world starts in London. In previous series, participants travel to Southeast Asia, South America and Canada.

This year’s route is still a mystery, but a teaser has dropped on BBC One and indicates that the participants will go somewhere again. So far we have seen elephants that walked the streets, narrow streets, mountain range and candidates with backpacks through a tiny city.

According to new information, China’s large wall is the starting point for this year’s race. The five teams will accelerate in China, Nepal and India and increase a racetrack of 14,000 km. The end goal? Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.

The problem with China’s involvement in the route is the restrictions that exist to film there. The 2024 season completely missed China due to Pandemic Lockdown laws, which meant that the participants took a SOKCHO aircraft to Hanoi in Vietnam instead to continue their journey (this year they led from Japan to Lombok in Indonesia).

In addition, earlier seasons in certain areas of the country were banned from the shooting: In the first season, the participants traveled through the autonomous region of Xinjiang, which does not allow filming. As a result, the cameras were switched off until they had gone through.

Who are the participants?

We don’t know much about them yet, but we know that there are five couples (as usual) and they are sisters, Elizabeth and Letitia; former couple Yin and Gaz; Brothers Brian and Melvyn; Teenager couple, fin and Sioned and mother and son Caroline and Tom.

The winners of the last year were the 20-year-old best friends Alfie and Owen, who had won the 20,000 pound price price with a lead over the second couple.

When does it begin?

The show will be broadcast on BBC One on April 23 at 9 p.m. Take a look at this room.
