Huntsville, ala. (Waff) – March celebrates the national nutritional month, and the Rachet City Dietician, Rachel Brown, now followed 48 to share tips for healthy eating and advice on well -being and to take care of what you eat and train.
Brown is a registered nutritionist and certified diabetes educator. She has her own platform called “Rocket City Dietitian”, where she shares tips, recipes, dieticians and eat in Huntsville.
Brown said she had loved food at a young age and when she learned that studying Essen was a profession, she knew that it was a career path that she wanted to take.
“I always loved food. My parents claim that my first word was hamburgers, so it started from there, ”said Brown.
“I just loved food. I had real cameras in front of cameras on your phone. I took photos of my food and learned that you can study food and nutrition and how this affects your body, and so I just went from there. “
Brown moved from Nashville to Huntsville and wanted to explore the Rocket City. She said she wrote restaurant reviews and took photos of Essen for the newspaper of her College School. She combined her passion for writing restaurant reviews, photography of Essen and exploring the city of Huntsville to create her “Rocket City Dietician” brand.
“When we moved here, I wanted to research, but somehow had a platform because I no longer had a school newspaper to insert it, and my husband mentioned why I didn’t just start a page, so I started to share food that I found, Piper, Leaf and Pizzellen were the first two and I just went from there,” said Brown.
“I have received a lot of good feedback from people who said they lived their whole life here and didn’t know that this existed, and I said:” Well, I love to share delicious food as if you add this into this recipe “and I just love to share and spread happy food messages.”
Brown said she believes that a large part of her success with her Rocket City dietary platform from the start of the Kovid, is consistently and constantly connected to her audience.
“I started in front of Covid. I have the feeling that there are the post-kovids social media volume and the preparatory audience, so I started in Huntsville, I think it was 2018 and I think there was a real need for it, ”said Brown.
“The meal scene was grew up, it got out of it, so I have the feeling that I would get in at the right time. I also have the feeling that I share quite often, so I make daily contributions and I love to speak to my followers and meet them personally, and I try to keep it real and not too pretty, so a little realistic as if you were going. “
Brown also started a new group called “Guest Buds” and it is a “gourmet” Meetup group, in which people meet in the community once a week to try local food places together.
“This is a really entertaining way of exploring locals and local people who love food,” said Brown.
There are many influencers and videos on social media that give people complex nutrition and nutritional advice. Brown said she was trying to create easier nutrition tips that people can follow.
“After you have practiced for about 15 years, you sometimes have to break it up on the basics, and it doesn’t have to be as complicated as some of the diets exist,” said Brown.
“I try to just break it up, and after you have spoken to people for so many years, you really need basic things you can work on and then go from there.”
Brown follows a different approach when it comes to your advice by reminding people that they can eat the food in moderation and to remember that maintaining a healthy relationship and balance with food is the key.
“I am an all-foods fit dietary. Some people don’t like that. They assume that nutritionists are very strict, very calorie -related, very no dessert, and I have found that this style does not work in the course of time, ”said Brown.
“You may be successful with it, but I hate it when you say:” You can eat this cheeseburger. “It can be part of a healthy lifestyle. We won’t eat it every day, but we will say:” Yes, if you want that, this relationship is important. “I try to get into how your relationship is really important Exactly what you eat, how you feel about food, how you talk about food, how you feel with food. “
Brown said she loves the connections she could have with the Huntsville community through her brand as Rocket City Dietician. She has contributed to making many local companies aware of, and people in the community have followed their advice to nutrition and wellness. She said it was always an honor to hit people who find their advice helpful.
One of the greatest misunderstandings of nutritional health said that she realized that she realizes that people are bad for them. She is working on breaking this misunderstanding by reminding people that if they have a healthy balance, they can still enjoy carbohydrates.
“People are afraid of carbohydrates and carbohydrates are important,” said Brown.
“Our brain wants to demonize carbohydrates and people and demonize gluten. If you have no celiac disease, Gluten is okay. I have the feeling that they are very similar: “Oh, you can’t eat a banana, there are so many carbohydrates”, but you can eat a banana, we have to compensate for them with protein. There is a lot about balance. “
The three main components to lead a healthy lifestyle is to manage their diet, sleep and stress.
Brown said that for the treatment of a healthy diet, think of a plate and make half of your plate fruit and vegetables with a fourth protein and a fourth of the greens.
“This is an easy way to structure your food. We want the concept of more, but instead of “I can’t have it, I can only have so much.” We want more, more color, more fruit, more vegetables, more variety, more spices and the way of thinking of more does not change.
When it comes to sleep, Brown said it was important to prioritize good, high -quality sleep and create a sleep routine.
“If you can only take this week and take 30 minutes, go to bed 30 minutes before the normal value and simply work on it for a month, and if you have to, you can increase it up to an hour before bed, depending on when you go to bed, that can help, said Brown.
“Finding something that relieves stress that is healthy for you, like listening to music, going, calling a friend … Find something that gives you pleasure that is healthy.”
When we ended the National Heart Health Month in February and entered the national nutritional month in March, Brown advises people to compensate for their plates by increasing more fruit and vegetables on their plates and increasing the amount of fiber in their diet in order to maintain health and general health from the heart and general health. She also said that the Mediterranean diet is a good diet if it helps after a certain diet for heart health.
Brown said that a balance between good food and movement will lead to a healthier lifestyle. She suggests starting where you are on your fitness trip, and slowly work for more movement and to maintain a balance between cardio and strength training exercises.
“Start where you are. If you are from couch to something, the best choice is probably the best choice if you have good knees. If you can’t move your knees, move your arms. If you can’t move your legs, move your arms back and forth, ”said Brown.
“I think starting slowly. Going is great and then move up from there. Weightlifting is really good for heart health, bone health. If you can only add a few weights to your walk, that would be good. “
Brown reminds people of taking their nutritional and wellness trip slowly and steadily, celebrating the small victories, a plan to create a backup plan and have a partner for accountability who stays up to date with their wellness and health trip.
