The British company Nanoco is suing LG for claims on patent violations of TV technology

A technology company based in Great Britain has filed a lawsuit against Electronics Giant LG in the United States and claims that the South Korean company has deliberately violated patents in TV technology.

Nanoco, based in Runcorn, said that he had submitted a patent violation against LG in Texas and claims that the company had violated the quantum point technology.

Quantum dots are a nanomaterial that 1,000 times smaller than human hair that can significantly improve the color ship visible for the human eye when light shines through it and consequently became a key technology in modern television production.

The quantum point production can include a toxic heavy metal called Cadmium, but Nanoco has pioneering work for the use of cadmium -free quantum points that develops and patented a successful method for the production of mass producers.

According to Nanoco, his patents were confirmed during an earlier lawsuit against another Tech giant, Samsung, in which the US patent processes and appeals sellers decided in his favor, with the claims in 2023 being included for £ 150.

In his submission to LG, Nanoco said that the company intentionally violated its patents and was looking for a permanent injunction and money damage.

At this stage, the claim was not returned to a monetary value.

Dr. Jalal Bagherli, Chairman of Nanoco, said: “Nanoco has proven the value and validity of his IP as part of the Samsung legal dispute proceedings.

“At that time, we repeated our intention to aggressively pursue other potential violations of our IP in order to ensure a fair result for Nanoco’s shareholders.

“While there is potential for damages, a legal dispute itself has a considerable risk, and the board must weigh up the opportunities for the costs.

“In this case, we believe that the potential return is worth the cost of starting legal disputes.

“Nanoco remains open to the search for a commercial solution acceptable for both sides, but the measures are suitable at this time in the best interest of the company and its shareholders to defend one of our core wealth values.”

LG was contacted for a comment.
