The daughter of adventurer Sir David Hempleman -Adams plans to be the first woman who drives Solo over Canada’s Baffin Island and fights the temperatures of up to -40 ° C.

Camilla Hempleman Adams, 32, will cover 150 miles during the two-week expedition, which you will complete on foot and on skis while she pulls a sled in winds of up to 68 miles per hour.

She hopes that the challenge will inspire women to break boundaries and at the same time to emphasize the effects of climate change on the region and its local inuit communities.

Ms. Hempleman-Adams, a producer living in London, was previously the youngest British woman, who was ski skiing in 2008 at the age of 15.

Her father will fly to Canada with her next Thursday, with the solo challenge begins a few days later.

Sir David is the first person to climb the highest peaks in all seven continents in a balloon for the North Pole and crossed the Atlantic in an open basket.

He will wait for his daughter for the finish line.

“I grew up two sisters and grew up in a family of discoverers. Our father would always encourage us to face challenges, regardless of our gender-is a nightmare when we come together to play games for Christmas,” said Ms. Hempleman-Adams.

“I was part of a similar Trek group on Baffin Island two years ago and thought I can do this solo.

“I want to show other women that boundaries can be broken, and I hope that this expedition inspires more women to face their own adventures and challenges.”

The attempt is supported by the Torabhaig distillery, a whiskey distillery on the Isle of Skye.

But with this solo -market adventure, everything is about inspiring younger women to step into their footsteps. “
